I am looking for a General Ledger accountant in the South Houston area near Gulfgate. My ideal candidate will have some managerial experience and will have consolidation experience as well. If you are bilingual in English/Spanish, that will also be a large benefit.

Here is the general summary:

* You will be responsible for handling the month-end closing and reporting processes for international subsidiaries and joint venture offices in accordance with joint venture operating agreements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals in an accurate and timely manner.

* In this position, you will be required to work with several different departments and foreign offices to resolve variances and revenue/expense mismatches. Our ideal candidate should be a proactive team player with a positive attitude and a problem-solving mind set.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

1. Be responsible for timely and accurate month-end and year-end general ledger closing cycles for foreign offices 2. Processing complex inter-company transactions 3. Preparation of minority interest calculations 4. Reconciliation of various Balance Sheet accounts (including inter-company accounts) 5. Preparation and posting entries to the General Ledger 6. Provide information and schedules to various departments and foreign offices – Spanish speaker preferred 7. Providing Annual Audit support and preparing PBC schedules 8. Providing continuous improvement to joint venture systems and processes 9. Participating in special projects, as needed

Job Specifications

• Education/Training: Degree in Accounting and a CPA preferred • Work Experience: at least 5 years of related work experience • Keyboard Skills: 10 key by touch • Software Skills: Intermediate Excel • Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit a positive teamwork attitude • Independent Judgment: Exhibit a mature level of decision making skills • Direction Received: Moderate to start; minimal afterwards • Mental Effort: Varies from moderate to rigorous, proactive • Complexity: Moderate • Impact of Decisions: Moderate • Contact With Others: High - Spanish speaker preferred

Working Conditions
You must have excellent analytical problem solving and organizational skills, strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel, and a thorough understanding of General Ledger accounts. CPA designation is preferred; Oracle experience would be considered a definite plus.
